THE CLASSIFICATION OF LIVING THINGS












     All living things can be classified according to

 their  characteristics.  For example, animals and

 plants are different types of living things.

     Groups of living things with similar cells are 

called  KINGDOMS

There are five kingdoms:

- ANIMAL

- PLANT

- FUNGI

- MONERA

- PROTISTA


The ANIMAL KINGDOM can be divided into:

  • VERTEBRATES ( with spinal column and 
     a skeleton)

  • INVERTEBRATES ( with no spinal column)

- FISH                              - WORMS

- BIRDS                            - SNAILS

- REPTILES

- AMPHIBIANS

- MAMMALS


The PLANT KINGDOM can be divided into:

  • SEED PLANTS
  • NON SEED PLANTS




The FUNGI KINGDOM :

  • MUSHROOMS
  • MOULD
