Gothic art was one of the most important art styles of the Middle Ages.

There was an interest in building gigantic cathedrals with colorful pictures on the walls and windows.

Stained glass window are typical of Gothic architecture.







VISIGOTHIC, ROMANESQUE AND GOTHIC CATHEDRAL IN PALENCIA 

Palencia Cathedral (Catedral de San Antolín) is a Roman Catholic church located in Palencia, Spain. It is dedicated to Saint Antoninus of Pamiers.

The cathedral was built from 1172 to 1504. 

The underground crypt houses the relics of San Antolín, which lie beneath two previous structures, one VISIGOTHIC CRYPT (the Crypt of San Antolín). and the other ROMANESQUE.

It is a large Gothic building, popularly called as "THE UNKNOWN BEAUTY" because it is not as well known as other Spanish cathedrals, though it is a valuable building which has a large number of works of art of great value.
